Cost P2 for larger disparity jumps is currently constant but could be dynamic. Perhaps based simply upon image intensity as in: Christian Banz et al. 2012. EVALUATION OF PENALTY FUNCTIONS FOR SEMI-GLOBAL MATCHING COST AGGREGATION. Or on something more complex but probably too expensive...
