Multiple tcp connections per peer
It might make sense to use multiple connections per peer to spread the stream load. This would allow for many TCP buffers and reduce latency spikes on poor connections. It is more complex, also for the web service which needs to know how to aggregate multiple connections that might occur on different machines. Redis events need to be used to bind streams etc so that all aggregating connections bind together... Or binding simply isn't used.
However, the true benefit is unknown. Other protocols or options might be available, so research.
